About the project
Synera Renewable Energy builds offshore wind farms; two of the three now running in Taiwan are theirs, and they were opening up to Japan and Korea. The site had to address that audience: English is the default language, with Chinese, Japanese and Korean beside it, while the news, project and careers content is kept in Strapi rather than in the code.
I joined once the project skeleton existed and built every page on it, alone, over two and a half months. Next.js 14 with the App Router and Tailwind, content pulled from Strapi and sanitised before it renders, and language negotiated in middleware with each section's interface copy living in the repository.
The design was built on motion, and that is where the time went. An animated WebGL background — PixiJS driven by simplex noise through a Kawase blur — sits under the entire site, with GSAP and Lottie carrying everything above it. The client specified the effects; getting them to feel the way they had been drawn, rather than merely happen, was most of the work.
