About the project
Renting in Taipei means refreshing 591 all day, because anything decent is gone within hours. I wanted the refreshing done for me.
A cron job sweeps my saved search every five minutes through the waking hours, keeps every listing it has already seen in MongoDB, and pushes only the genuinely new ones to LINE — the Messaging API for the bot itself, LINE Notify for the alerts, and a second job to keep the OAuth tokens alive. The search conditions are managed from a small React and MUI console, opened inside LINE itself through LIFF. Node, Express and TypeScript behind all of it, in a container. Seven days, start to finish.
LINE Notify has since been shut down, so it runs on Telegram now, with the console rebuilt from this one. Building on an API you do not own means eventually rewriting the half that talks to it.
